

He was an Iraq War veteran and proudly served his country. He devoted his life to his family and loved the outdoors. The delights of his life were caring for his pond and the family property, running his sawmill, finessing woodworking projects, and, most importantly, raising his boys.
He was born and raised in Fort Payne, Alabama, where he graduated at the top of his class of 2002 at Fort Payne High School. He went on to earn degrees from Jacksonville State University and Auburn University.
He grew up in Godfrey Avenue Baptist Church of Fort Payne where his father was the pastor. In recent years he has been a dedicated member of Saks Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Greer Hartline; sons, Nolan and Ellis; parents, Richard and Sandra Hartline of Fort Payne; brothers, Alex Hartline (Jean) of Fort Payne, Robert Hartline (Angela) of Cape Coral, Florida, and Russell Hartline of Birmingham; sister, Angie Hartline Bone (Michael) of Fort Payne; parents-in-law, Gary and Cindy Greer of Jacksonville; brother-in-law, Owen Greer (Ashley) of Jacksonville; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Godfrey Avenue Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025, with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. Dr. Daniel Harper will officiate.
