Funeral Services will be Sunday, March 24, 2013 , 3:30 p.m., at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Nealie C. “Jack” Dixon, 87, Gadsden who passed away Friday, March 22, 2013. Dr. Craig Carlisle will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.
Mr. Dixon was a graduate of Sardis High School. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War receiving a purple heart. Mr. Dixon was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Polly Jacobs Dixon, wife, Bea Brown Dixon, son, Barry Daverson, Brothers, Kemper “Cotton” (Hazel) Dixon, Sam “Junior” (Barbara) Dixon, sisters, Alma “Jim” (Harold) Lusher and Doris (Johnny) Presley.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy (Terry) Clayton, grandchildren, Jessica and Neal Clayton, wife, Bobbie Hibbs Dixon, brother, John (Cathryn) Dixon, sister, I V Hill, brother-in-law, Jesse (Lorraine) Brown, step daughter, Rebecca (Barry) Johnson.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to any favorite charity.
Special thanks is extended to Dr. Johnny Wilborn, Beverly Hastings, Staff of Oak Landing Assisted Living Facility and Staff of Tut Fann Veteran’s Home.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
