Mrs. Witherspoon was born on February 26, 1924 in Jeffersonville, Georgia. She graduated from Lanier High School for Girls in Macon, Georgia and also graduated from Young Harris College in Young Harris, Georgia. She attended the Nurses Training Program at William & Mary College in Richmond Virginia during World War II. Mrs. Witherspoon was a member of Bellevue United Methodist Church of Gadsden, and served several years as a volunteer at the Salvation Army during the Christmas Season. She is preceded in death by her parents: Charles S. and Martha H. Turner; brother: Louie L. Turner;
and sister: Imogene T. Sawyer.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Bellevue United Methodist Church of Gadsden, Alabama.
