Pamela Kay Deerman

Pam lived a life filled with love and welcomed everyone who entered her home like family. She could never bear to see someone go hungry. She attended Emma Sansom High School before starting a family at a young age. Over the years, she lived in Japan for three years, California, and other places that gave her many stories to share. She enjoyed a good book, a scary movie, and time with her dogs, Bella and Courage. Above all, she cherished being “Nene” to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen Collins and Donald R. McDaniel; her parents-in-law, Mary Sue and Watson L. Deerman; her brothers, Gary McDaniel and Richard “Timmy” McDaniel; her sister-in-law, Rebecca Bearden; and her sons, Jimmy R. Chapman and Chadwick B. Deerman.

Pam is survived by her loving husband, Billy R. Deerman; her children, Stephanie (Blake) Ayers, Jacob (Shelbie) Deerman, and Jeffery (April) Deerman; and her grandchildren, Destinie Chapman, Christopher Ayers, Tristan Deerman, Alex Deerman, and Ella Rae Deerman. She is also survived by other beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 25, 2026, from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, Alabama. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., led by Richard “Bubba” Leatherwood. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens, 1440 W. Grand Avenue, Gadsden, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Jason Schmale, Jason Leatherwood, Justin Leatherwood, Richard “Little Bubba” Leatherwood Jr., John McDaniel, and Nikelas Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Moat and Robert Collins.
