Pauline “Polly” Davis returned to her heavenly home on March 12, 2018. Polly was born in Memphis, TN on November 12, 1931 to Arthur and Bertie Claytor. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1953 from Carraway Methodist Hospital located in Birmingham, AL, after which she held positions at Selma Hospital, Holy Name (Gadsden), and McGuffey Health & Rehab (Gadsden). She was a member of Westside Church of Christ in Rainbow City, AL. Polly loved animals, taking in many strays over the years. She was an avid reader and staunch supporter of University of Alabama football. Her sense of humor and quick wit always kept her family and friends on their toes. Polly was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Robert Davis, her beloved husband, James “Bubba” Davis, her sister, Shirley Dye, and her brother-in-law, Joe Davis. She is survived by her sister, Juanita Davis; her son, Ed (Karen) Davis; her daughter, Margaret (Tim) Brasel; her grandchildren Matt (Cara) Davis, Sarah Davis, Leigh (Aaron) Sledd, and Cody (Katie) Fields; and her great grandchildren, Garner and Wrenn Sledd. A visitation is scheduled for Friday March 16th from 12 to 2 with funeral service immediately following at Collier-Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden, AL. Polly will be laid to rest at Rainbow Memorial Cemetery. Long-time family friend, George Hutto, will officiate.

I lived next door to Polly for many years, and had many conversations with her, she was a great neighbor, we had a long conversation when my my mom passed away and i appreciated that very much.

I'm so thankful to have had some precious moments with her last summer at Margaret's.
What a wonderful, personable and funny lady she was, indeed, brings a smile to my face. Prayers to all for comfort.
Love, Heather

Polly was a pleasure to be around, even when she would tell it like it is. I spent many times visiting with her at Margaret's home over the years. I will always remember her smiling face. My prayers go out to all the family.....Marcella
