

Phillip was born on June 18, 1953 to the late John E. and Marie Hodges. Phillip was a 1971 graduate of Gadsden High School, he then attended the University of Alabama and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi Social Fraternity. After college he worked in Washington D.C. with the FBI. Phillip later moved back to Gadsden and became owner of Hodges-Ford Insurance Agency and worked in the community up until his retirement. Phillip was an active member of MeadowBrook Baptist Church. He was recently elected President of the Gadsden High Gold Tiger's Club. In his past time Phillip enjoyed going to the gym, traveling to the beach and eating with his lunch buddies. Phillip especially enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family and friends, he never meet a stranger and was loved by all who knew him.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 46 years, Myrna Hodges; son, Phillip Hodges, Jr.; daughter, Lindsay Hodges; granddaughters, Katie Hodges, Harper Hodges, Ava Hodges; brother, John E. Hodges, Jr.; sister, Kimberly Hodges Hogg.
In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Stephen Nears Hodges.
A visitation for Phillip will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at MeadowBrook Baptist Church, 2525 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, Alabama 35901, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Pastor Randy Gunter will officiate services.
Phillip will be laid to rest in Crestwood Cemetery, 2209 E Broad St, Gadsden, Alabama. Pallbearers assisting Phillip to his final resting place will include; Bill Hogg, Don Davis, Craig Ford, Raymond Lane, Glenn Leslie, Steve Martin, Sid Nelson and Wendell Oden; Honorary pallbearers, Lloyd Boman and JR Matthews.

The Hodges family wish to extend a special thanks to a host of friends and family that assisted Phillip during his ICU stay at UAB; also Judy and Steve Martin, who were devoted friends that unselfishly helped care for Phillip during his sickness.
