Funeral Service for Ralph Wesley Carlisle, 85, of Rainbow City will be 2:30, Friday at First Baptist Church – Nowlin Chapel. He passed away at home on Tuesday, January 25th after an extended illness. Rev. Bryan Blass will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.
Ralph was born in Gadsden and served in the Navy during WWII. Ralph was deacon at First Baptist Church and also sang in the choir. He was the owner of Carlisle Realty Company. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Evatt; and grandson, David Carlisle.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris Carlisle; son, Tom (Nancy) Carlisle; daughter, Diane (Rod) Beech; son-in-law, Garvin T. Evatt and his wife Pam; grandchildren, Sara & Ben Carlisle, Steven, Bill, and Susann Evatt, Michael Beech; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be B.J. Roberts, Ron Wooten, Lee Herod, and Robert Gibson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Amedysis Hospice or First Baptist Church Youth Group.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 until 2:30 PM at Nowlin Chapel.
