

Raymond “Ray” Michael Grigsby, 78, of Rainbow City, was born on November 2, 1947. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 27, 2026, and his faith was made sight as he saw his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held at MeadowBrook Church at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 30th. Dr. Richard Trader and Dr. Craig Carlisle will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Ray will be laid to rest in Crestwood Cemetery immediately following the service.
Ray was a 1966 graduate of Gadsden High School and went on to attend the University of Alabama, where he was a proud member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He served in the Air National Guard. He worked at Gulf State Steel in accounting and purchasing for many years prior to its closing. He then built a successful career in financial services and was a financial advisor with Level Four Financial, LLC. In recognition of his dedication and excellence, Ray was honored as Level Four’s Top Producer in 2019. He also served as Past Chairman of the Coosa Investment Club and was named Civitan of the Year for his community service and leadership. He loved to play golf, collect cars and travel with his family.
Ray was a man of faith and was a member of 12th Street Baptist Church for 75 years and served as a deacon. He and Saratha attended MeadowBrook Baptist Church. He was known for his generosity, integrity, and genuine care for others. He loved his family deeply and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was “a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24) He was thankful for and loved many best friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.H. and Virginia Grigsby; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Mary Bailey; his brother, Mickey Grigsby; and grandchild, Matthew Yother.
He is survived by his loving wife, Saratha Grigsby; his children, Lauren and Jeff Weathers, Claire Yother, and Paul Yother; his grandchildren, Ryan and Haskin Weathers and Michael and Mary Catherine Yother; sisters-in-law Sharyon Ramsey and Mary Jo Bailey; nephew Anthony (Christy) Grigsby and their children Taylor and Ali; nephew Vince (Andrea) Ramsey and their children Jayce and Kyle.
Pallbearers will be his cousins: Don Leyden, Sean Leyden, Tommy Leyden, Lynn Lawson, Lewis Hill, Al Hill, Terry Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Wayne Hill, Bruce Hill, and Phil Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to aTeam Ministries (ateamministries.org, 1809 Oxmoor Rd., Homewood, AL 35209), Big Oak Ranch (bigoak.org, 6000 Shelley Dr., Springville, AL 35146), or Church of the Highlands Correctional Ministries (3660 Grandview Pkwy, Suite 100 Birmingham, AL 35243) in Ray’s memory.
