Rick was born in Gadsden, AL on June 9, 1951. He graduated from Gadsden High School in 1969. In 1987, Rich grew a passion for computers and began studying from home. He didn’t have a degree in computer engineering, but that never stopped him from learning everything there is to know about technology. In 1992, he was recognized as the “Father of Modern-Day Tele-Radiology and Medical Imaging” and even on his last days, he was researching natural remedies to cure cancer.
Rick challenged himself in everything he did and was driven to make a difference in the world. In his spare time, he loved to watch Alabama Football and surround himself with family and friends. If you knew Rick then you could expect a “Roll Tide” every Saturday. His hobbies were playing golf and finding/collecting arrow heads and fossils. Rick will especially be remembered for his witty personality and ability to put a smile on everyone’s face. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
The family will accept friends at Collier-Butler Funeral Home from 6 to 8PM on Friday, January 28, 2022.
