Visitation will be held at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 2959 Pleasant Valley Rd, Jacksonville, AL 36265, on July 9, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm. Richie will be buried in the adjoining cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Richie’s greatest blessing was his family. For 39 beautiful years, he shared an incredible love with his devoted wife, Lori Johnson. Together they built a life filled with faith, laughter, and unconditional love. He was a proud father to Kyla Hanson (Ryan) and Gavin Johnson (Rayne), but his favorite title of all was "Papa." His six precious grandsons—Will Reese, Zakk Reese, Cohen Hanson, Ryver Johnson, Conlee Johnson, and Kayden Johnson—were the joy of his life. Nothing made him happier than cheering them on at their games, celebrating their accomplishments, and watching them grow into the young men he was so proud of.
Richie is lovingly survived by his mother, Linda Johnson; his brother, Scott Johnson (Jill); his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and countless family members and dear friends. To many, he was simply "Richie," a loyal friend with a generous heart, a warm smile, and a kindness that made everyone feel like family.
Whether he was fishing, mowing the grass, sharing a laugh, or simply spending time with those he loved, he found beauty in life's simple moments. He never needed grand gestures to leave a lasting impression—his quiet strength, generous heart, and unconditional love spoke louder than words ever could.
Richie’s family is deeply grateful that he will be laid to rest surrounded by the love of those who meant so much to him. Serving as pallbearers will be his closest friends and beloved family members, a final tribute to the love, respect, and lifelong bonds they shared.
Though we will miss our Papa more than words can express, we find peace knowing his love lives on in each of us. His memory will continue to guide us, his laughter will echo in our hearts, and his legacy will be carried on through the family he loved so deeply.
Until we meet again, you will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
