Rickey Lynn Ramey

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Rickey Lynn Ramey, age 65, of Southside, who passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Rev. Larry Ballard and Rev. Dave Roberts will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Ramey was a native and lifelong resident of Gadsden. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 39 years of service. Mr. Ramey was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. B. and Louise Ramey; and daughter, Candy Michelle Ramey.

Mr. Ramey is survived by his wife of 46 years, Aspasia Vezertzis Ramey; son, Rickey Lynn (Angie) Ramey, Jr., granddaughters, Baylee Ramey, and Caitlyn Shoemaker; sister, Debra Ramey Coleman; Special friends, Jeff & Judy Collard; niece, Jessica (Matt) Wood; and several aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Collard, Alex Calderon, Joey Nance, John Roden, Warren Wright, and Andrew Roden.

Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Camellia Hospice, and the River Trace Neighborhood.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Camellia Hospice; Tammy Cox; Dr. James Robinson; nurse, Brandon Thrasher; and Carolyn Jensen.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Thursday, prior to the service.
