at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. L. Dale Butler will officiate.
Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.
Robert was a 1957 graduate of Glencoe High School, a past member of Glencoe Baptist Church., where he and his wife taught Sunday Night “Baptist Training Union” class of New Married Couples. He was currently a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Robert worked with A & P Groceries in Gadsden, Alabama City, Tupelo, Mississippi and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He became owner/operator of Northgate Discount Foods in Northport, Alabama, and worked at Piggly Wiggly from where he later retired.
Robert was preceded in death by his son, Craig Robert Barnes; Mother, Shellie Patton Barnes Lee; Father, Isham Carroll Barnes, Jr. (WWII Veteran); Stepfather, John M. Lee (WWII Veteran);
Brother, Toney L. Lee; Sister, Eloise Barnes Clements.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nina Raley Barnes; Daughter, Elizabeth L. Barnes;
Grandson, Tanner Robert Barnes; Sister, Paula Barnes DeMedicis; 2 Brothers, Johnny D. (Myrna) Lee, and Steve G. Lee; 2 Sisters-in-law, Dorothy Raley Woodward and Jonnie Raley Griffin;
A number of cousins, numerous nephews.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Home Health/Hospice, Jennifer, Danielle, Leigh, Candace, Rev. Ron Martin, MICU and ER nurses, Doctors and staff of Druid City Hospital
(Drs. Dougherty, Abudulla, Miller) and Chaplin Ron Howard.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, December 09, 2022 prior to the service
from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
