

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2106 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Robert E. Morgan, age 77, of Gadsden, who passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Rev. Billy Boatwright will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Morgan was born June 29, 1939 in Cherokee County but had resided in Etowah County for the last 52 years. He was retired from the city of Gadsden Parks and Recreation and was a member of Gospel Temple Christian Center for the past 35 years. Mr. Morgan was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmus and Opal Morgan; and brothers, John and Randy Morgan.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his loving, caring and devoted wife of 40 years, Amanda Morgan; children, Bobby (Brenda) Morgan, Renna (Mickey) Pate; Sherrie (Lane) Mason; Jeff (Melissa) Morgan; Matthew (Candi) Morgan and Nicole Alden; grandchildren, Lynn Morgan, Justin Hutt, Cody Manuel, Chase Hutt, Dylan Mason, Conner Morgan, Torie Morgan, Lily and Lacey Morgan; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty McAdams, Phyllis Thomas, Donnie Morgan, and Steve Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Bill, Michael, and Duane Ball, Jimmy Duncan, Kevin Morgan, Russell Nixon, and Shannon Tibbitt.
