

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, for Roberta Louise Thomas Husband, age 87, of Gadsden, residing in Madison, AL for the past 2 years, who passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024. Rev. Adam Ragsdale will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.
Ms.Husband was born in Gadsden, AL on July 31, 1937. She attended Emma Sansom High School where she enjoyed her time in the band. In 1955 she graduated from Galena Park High School, Galena Park, TX. Ms. Husband enjoyed her Red Hatters Group, fishing, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was the owner of the Lantern Steakhouse in Etoile, TX for 13 years. She was a two time Breast Cancer Survivor.
Ms. Husband was preceded in death by her father, James Frank Thomas; mother, Louise Mooney Thomas; and brother, James Allen Thomas.
She is survived by her daughters, Carla Smith (David) Hinger, and Kelly Smith; grandchildren, Brian (Jessica) Hinger, and Brittany Hinger; great-granddaughter, Allison Louise Hinger; sisters, Linda (Walker) McAnally and Betty (David) Wortham; brother, Robert (Debbie) Thomas; sister-in-law, Nancy Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Hayes, Hayden Smith, David Hinger, Brian Hinger, Michael Maddox, Jeff Simmons, Bob Luttrell and Rick Paige.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Catalyst Community Church in Gadsden, AL.
Special thanks to nephew/soloist, Aaron McAnally; Southern Care/New Beacon Hospice nurses and aides (especially Ms. Evelyn, her care aide and nurse, LaShonda)
