

The celebration of life for Rosemary Bridges Cheatwood will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Glencoe Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Brother Rodney McInnis officiating, followed by the burial at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. The family will accept friends from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing.
Rosemary was born November 16, 1953, to Sara R. and James "Butch" Bridges of Glencoe, Ala. She was a graduate of Glencoe High School and of Gadsden State Community College's nursing program. She was an active member of Glencoe Cumberland Presbyterian Church and, over the years, enjoyed playing the organ and pianos at other churches including: Levi United Methodist Church, Ohatchee First United Methodist Church and Glencoe First United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, logic puzzles and many other craft activities. She was always excited to lend a helping hand when available. Mrs. Cheatwood was preceded in death by her parents, Sara R. and James Bridges; father-in-law, Charles E. Cheatwood; daughter, Amy C. Dempsey; nephew, Joshua Shelnut; and great-nephew, Noah Shelnut.
She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Cheatwood; sister, Becky (Mark) Walden; daughter, Wendy (Phillip) Jones; son, John (Corey) Cheatwood; son-in-law, David (Heidi) Dempsey; grandchildren, Anna Loveless, Daniel and Erin Dempsey, Alisha Jones; and families by law and love: Ruby Cheatwood, Lisa and Tommy Bonds, Cheri and Barry Hill Ashley, Clint and Harper Lynn Turner, Cari, Justin and Jax Chandler, Lisa Holl; and special pet, Peabody Cheatwood.
Special thanks to Drs. Bailey, Jackson, Davenport and Masood, as well as the nursing staff at GRMC for the tremendous effort they put into her care.
Pallbearers will be Mark Walden, Phillip Jones, Barry Hill, Tommy Bonds, David and Daniel Dempsey.
