Rosemary Hampton, 81, of The Egypt Community, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 21, 2018. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Services will be held at 3:00 pm at Collier Butler Chapel on Friday, May 25, 2018. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
Rosemary was born in 1936 to William Arthur Vernier and Jeanette Sears. She met her husband Arthur William Hampton and moved to Alabama in 1972. She loved sitting on her porch on Hampton Mountain and watching all of the horses and hummingbirds. She enjoyed riding to Georgia to get lottery tickets and playing cards with her family. She was known to many as “Nannie” and especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rosemary was baptized on May, 11, 2018 surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur William Hampton “Junior” and brother, Gordon Vernier.
She is survived by her daughters, Shari (Earl) Tesch, Annette (Ray) Beck and Mary Hammett. Grandchildren, Derrick (Leslie) Hammett, Earl (Jessica) Tesch II, Phillip (Stephanie) Tesch, Jason (Crystal) Presley, Ashlee (Nick) Garner, Adrianna (Tom) McCabe, Ginny (Brian) Willis, Wesley (Danielle) Nix, Nikki (Ashley) Collins, 19 great grandchildren plus one of the way and three great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Hammett, Earl Tesch II, Phillip Tesch, Jason Presley, Wesley Nix, Nick Garner, Tom McCabe and Brian Willis.
