

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Black Creek Baptist Church for Roy Lee Brown, 95, of Gadsden who passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017. Rev. Doug Turner, John David and Mark Blackwell and Scott Bobo will officiate. Burial will be at the adjoining Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 1 pm until the hour of service.
Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service will direct.
Beloved husband, father, granddaddy, great granddaddy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elaine Brown, daughters, Charlene (Wayne) Bobo, Sherrie (Kenneth) Ragan and Debra (Joe) Conley.
Roy was predeceased by his granddaughter, Amy Diane Bobo, parents, Willian Elmer and Emma Brown, sisters, Ava Sue Brown and Louise (Clyde) Fortenberry, brothers and sisters-in-law, John William (Geraldine) Brown, Charles (Mary and Lucille) Brown, Reuben Brown and James Alfred Brown, father and mother-in-law, Benson and Audrey Blackwell, sister and brother-in-law, Clifford and Joyce Reagan.
He is survived by grandchildren, Carla (Steve) West, Brian Bobo, Kendra (Kyle) Jordan, Kaylan (Blake) Perry, Allison and Evan Conley and Michael Abbott, great grandchildren, Bryant and Krislyn West, Brooklyn Montgomery, Connor Jordan, Kree and Kambri Perry, brother, Harold Brown, sisters-in-law, Janet Brown and Glenda (Harold) Bobo, brother-in-law, Johnny and Faye Blackwell and several nieces and nephews.
At the age of 12 he accepted our Lord and Savior, baptized and became a member of Parkers Grove Methodist Church and attended Black Creek Baptist Church for 65 years. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, a member of the V.F.W. Post 8600 and retired from Goodyear with 40 years of service. He loved fishing, gardening, hunting, wood work, Alabama, Auburn and Braves games, C.B. Radios, beach trips, attending his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in sports.
Pallbearers will be Connor and Kyle Jordan, Brian Bobo, Bryant and Stevie West, Blake Perry, Michael Abbott, Evan Conley, Casey Blackwell, Brett Jackson, Mark and Benny Reagan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Black Creek Baptist Church, Travis Samples, Jerry Williams, Tim Beasley, Eric Adams, Eddie Walden, Roy Farley and a host of many friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the Nurses, PCT and all the Doctors and staff at Riverview Regional Medical Center.
