

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Ruby Everett Ford, age 94 of Gadsden, who passed away Monday, August 22, 2016. Rev. L. Dale Butler will officiate. Burial will be at Hokes Bluff Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Ford was born and raised in Etowah County and later moved to Springville, AL where she was active in the Methodist church as a Sunday School teacher. She loved to travel, especially with her senior citizen group. She covered 48 states and traveled abroad to England and Ireland. Ruby was a master gardner, growing flowers, vegetables, and peanuts. She was an excellent cook and used her home grown peanuts to make homemade peanut butter. Ruby loved quilting and donating her skills to the church.
Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her husband, W. Brandon Ford; beloved daughter, Martha Jean; and sisters, Jean, Myrtle, and Faye.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Ford of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Ted (Bonnie) Burch of Franklin, TN, Christy (Erik) Hutchinson Eden Prairie, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to your local United Methodist Church.
