Ruby Latimer

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Ruby Latimer, 89 of Gadsden who passed away Friday, December 23, 2016. Revs. Mike Cleckler and Jan Stanley will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery.

Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.

Mrs. Latimer was a lifelong member of the Cathedral of Praise Church, (formerly the Alabama City Church of God). She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ralph “Tony” Latimer, Sr.; son, Rodney Joe Latimer; mother, Rosa Belle Womack; brother, Charles Womack and sisters, Ailene Butler and Frances Crosson.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy (Iris) Oden; brother, James Womack; son, Ralph (Joan) Latimer; daughter, Sherrie (Doug) Hamil; son, Ran (Tamme) Latimer; grandchildren, Anna Hamil; Keith Latimer; Ty Latimer and Kristy Latimer; step grandchildren, Sharon Hamil and Shannon Zanninovich, great grandchildren, Mariah; Cam and Hayden; step great grandchildren, Keenan, Georgia and Amalie; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Paden Assisted Living Staff, especially Patty and Debbie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cathedral of Praise in Mrs. Latimer’s Memory.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10 am until the hour of service at the funeral home
