

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Mrs. Ruby Sue Carnes Baldwin Snyder, age 81, Gadsden, who passed away at her residence on Saturday, August 14, 2010 after a short illness. Dr. Tommy Ferguson and Rev. Jay Stewart will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing.
Mrs. Snyder was a member of Dwight Baptist Church where she was active in The “Joy” Sunday School Class. She was also a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary-Post 2760. Ruby loved to paint, attend ceramic classes and watch her soap opera “General Hospital.” She retired from Sears where she worked in the custom made drapery department.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ethel Carnes; 12 brothers and sisters; and grandson, Jason Snyder.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Gordon Silvey Snyder; children, Dan (Linda) Baldwin, Shun Snyder and his fiancé, Connie Hicks, Phillip (Sunny) Snyder, Susan (Patrick) Kenahan and Kathy Snyder; grandchildren, Angela Keller, Dawn (Josh) Fordham, Courtney Griffith, Justin Snyder and Brooke Baldwin; 6 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Pallbearers will be Larry Carnes, Charles Carnes, Brian Carnes, Don Mayo, Jerry Mayo, Dave Carnes, Justin Snyder.
The family requests no flower. Any donations can be made to Dwight Baptist Church New Life Center, 520 North 29th Street, Gadsden.
