

Ruby Jo Williams, 93, of Gadsden passed away August 5, 2011 at 8:25 P.M. at Hospice of Marshall County Shepherd’s Cove. Funeral services will be on Monday August 8, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Her special nephew, Rev. Wayne Tarvin will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. with burial following in Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Marshall County and lived most of her life in Gadsden, Alabama. To us, she was the world’s best “mom”, “maw maw”, “great-grandma”. She attended Twelfth Street Baptist Church. Her mission in life was feeding the hungry, loving and helping people.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband; Charles Williams, parents, five brothers, a sister, many relatives and lifelong personal friends.
She is survived by her daughter; Shirley Jean Otwell Smith (Al), Sons; Rev. Gary Lee Williams (Naomi), Larry Glenn Williams (Sandra), Grandchildren; Bobby Gene Otwell, Cindy Self (Richard), Chris Williams (Laina), Matthew Williams, Great-Grandchildren; Tyler and Brodie Self, Eli and Zeke Williams, a brother; William A. Smith, and many special nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Bobby Gene Otwell, Chris Williams, Matthew Williams, Richard Self and great-grandson; Tyler Self.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons; Brodie Self, Eli Williams and Zeke Williams.
A special, special thanks to Doctors; Todd Cross (Phyllis), Courtney Lowe (Debbie), G. Patel, Chaihan Korn and Kurt Kantzler. Oak Landing owner, Jerry Tinsley and his sweet mother, Ruby Aline and all the staff.
The family is also grateful and most appreciative to Dr. Russell Robinson, Hospice of Marshall County “Shepherd’s Cove” and staff, home health nurse; Lindsey Martin.
Special thanks also to Cindy Fountain, her special niece and longtime hair stylist.
