Funeral services will be Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Ruth Bonner Doyle, 87, formerly of Gadsden, who passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. Rev. Waylon Thrasher will officiate. Burial will follow at Blountsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Doyle was born March 19, 1931 in Blountsville, AL to John Horace and Bessie Flora Bonner. She attended J.B. Pennington High School and graduated in the class of 1949.
She lived in Birmingham, worked at Alabama Power for many years and raised two sons. In the mid 1970’s she moved to Victoria, Texas and lived there until the early 1990’s when she retired to Gadsden.
Ruth and her husband, Grady, were founding members of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Victoria Texas and were members of Bellevue United Methodist Church in Gadsden. They had many close and dear friends at their church homes over the years.
She was preceded in death by:
• husband, Henry Grady Doyle
• parents: John Horace Bonner and Bessie Flora Bonner
• brothers, James Palmon Bonner, Herston Pelham Bonner, Wilfred Paul Bonner
• grandson: Steven Bradley Foster
Survived by:
• Sons: Mark (Tracy) Foster, Joe (Tina) Foster, and Shane Doyle
• Daughters: Sarah (Ronnie) Mayfield, and Brenda Buckley.
• Along with many beloved family members including Fayra Thrasher, Evelyn Daniels, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and others.
