Sara N. Lane

She was born Dec. 4, 1925, in Gadsden to Raymond and Sara Alma Culli.

Sara Nell graduated from Northwestern University and received a bachelor of science degree. She married the late James "Jimmy" Lane, and they resided in Gadsden.

Sara Nell worked as a dental hygienist until she retired. She had a passion for her work as well as her patients. She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church. She was an avid lover of dogs, and her favorite pastime was gardening.

She is survived by her son, Raymond Lane (Connie); grandson, Philip Lane of Jackson; and sister, Lura Alma Culli of Gadsden.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to First United Methodist Church's Howell Erwin Fund, 115 S. 5th Street, Gadsden, Alabama, 35901.

A graveside ceremony will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crestwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
