

Sharon Ann Stiles Thacker, age 73, of Gadsden, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, whom she faithfully served throughout her life on, Friday, April 24, 2026. A woman of unwavering faith, a voice of praise, and a heart that led our family to the Lord.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, with Bro. Larry Perkins, Bro. Ricky Perkins and Bro. Bubba Leatherwood officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Her grandson, Cody T. Neely will direct services.
Mrs. Thacker was a woman of deep faith and unwavering strength. She loved the Lord with all her heart and lived a life that reflected that devotion daily. Sharon was known for her strong will, her candid spirit, and her ability to speak her mind. Those who knew her best understood that her boldness was rooted in love. She was full of personality, never afraid to stand her ground, and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Mrs. Thacker had a special gift for music and used it as a testimony of her faith throughout her life. She beautifully wrote gospel songs that reflected her deep love for the Lord, often drawing inspiration from her personal walk with Him. Singing was more than a passion—it was her ministry. She faithfully shared her voice in church each Sunday, where her heartfelt singing touched those around her and brought comfort, encouragement, and joy. Through her songs, she expressed a faith that was both powerful and genuine, leaving behind a legacy of praise that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Gene Thacker, Jr.; her parents, Elvin Washington Stiles and Clovie Virginia Hamilton Stiles; her brother, Troy Stiles; father and mother-in-law. George Thomas Thacker and Mattie Lee Kilgo Thacker; and great grandson, Sawyer Allen.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Eddie Gene Thacker, Sr.; her children, Annie (Robbie) Finley, Gail (Anthony) Neely, and Virginia (Allen) Davidson; and her cherished grandchildren whom called her “Granny”, Jessica (Allen) Lipscomb, Kevin (Carlita) Neely, Cody Neely, Taylor Finley, Tyler (Kylee) Finley, Brittany (Brandon) Horton, Brooke (Scott) Allen, Allen (Cassidy) Davidson, John Davidson, Abby (Josh Hall) Davidson, Felicia Davidson, Amy Davidson, Eddie Hamilton, Trenton Hamilton, and Trevor (Chloe) Thacker. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; eleven siblings; special family members whom Sharon raised, Jason, Jeremy, Melissa, and Christy Stiles, and Phillip, Benjamin, and Bella Stiles; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Allen Davidson, Robbie Finley, Anthony Neely, Jeffrey Thacker, Jason Baty, David Williams, and Bobby Portwood.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Margaret Bigham, and to Amedisys Hospice for the compassionate care they provided, especially nurse Shelly Radcliffe.
Sharon’s life was one that left a lasting mark—through her faith, her strength, and her unmistakable personality. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
