Stanley Avron Ellison

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forrest Cemetery for Stanley Avron Ellison, 67, Leesburg, who died Wednesday Feb. 22, 2012, at Riverview Regional Medical Center. Bro. Philip Elliott will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Ellison was a native of Etowah County. He served proudly in the Alabama Air National Guard and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanice Ellison; parents, Leonard and Frances Ellison; sister, Linda Ellison Floyd; and brother, Randy Ellison.

Mr. Ellison is survived by his wife, Peggy, and their son, Skylar; son, Todd (Mary Beth); brother, Roger Ellison (Linda); grandchildren, A.J. and Cassie Ellison; niece and nephews, Selena Floyd Brown, Scott Floyd, and Shane (Katie) Ellison.

Pallbearers are Todd Ellison, Roger Ellison, Shane Ellison, Scott Floyd, Thomas McNew, Donnie Kirby, Doug Green, and Billy Meeks.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
