Steven Ira "Steve" Thompson, age 60, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Saturday November 10, 2018. Funeral Service will be at 2pm Wednesday November 14,2018 at Collier Butler Funeral Chapel. Steve grew up in Ashville, AL. He loved to hunt, fish, or do anything outdoors. He was a part of the St. Clair County Rescue Squad. Steve loved spending time at the Smokey Mountains and the beach. He is preceded in death by his parents Ira and Katherine Thompson and grandparents Clint and Minta Mae Thompson and Clyde and Alma Jones. He is survived by his wife, Paula Thompson; children Alisa Clayton (Steve), Jamie Thompson (Christina), Heather Coley (Scott), and Brian Hassell; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, 3 sisteras, 2 brothers, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Griffin, Seth Thompson, Cooper Coley, Donny Hunter, Steve Clayton, Scott Coley, Steve Guthery, Tom Brown, Stevie Preston, and Keith Cauthen. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Riverview Regional Medical Center, Dr. Thomas Kevin Lackey, Dr. Matt Rains, Donny Hunter, and his best friends David and Barbie Hunter.
