
Chapel funeral service will be held Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 12:30 honoring Mr. Thomas Quitman Gladden, age 83, of Gadsden who passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Rev. Albert Morgan and Rev. Kenneth Lassiter will officiate with burial following at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service directing.
Mr. Gladden was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Etowah County. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during World War II and during the occupation of Germany after the war. He was retired from Gulf States Steel with 45 years of service.
Mr. Gladden is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Pruitt Gladden; parents, Sam and Lucy Gladden; sister, Bernice Pritchett; brother, Amos Gladden; and brother-in-law, Thomas Pritchett.
He is survived by his son, Jerry (Donna) Gladden, Gadsden; daughter, Cathy Cook, Gadsden; grandchildren, Greg (Anna) Cook, Tuscaloosa, Jennifer (Adam) Pearson, Tuscaloosa, Jared (Amy) Gladden, Gadsden and great-grandchildren, Sam Cook, Wyatt Cook and Morris Gladden and a host of niece and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Special thanks to the MICU staff at Gadsden Regional and Dr. John Wilborn.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Fund.
The Family will be accepting friends from 10:30am until 12:30pm Saturday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
