Todd St. John Hare
November 1, 1963-June 18, 2025
Gadsden, Alabama.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Todd St. John Hare,
who left this world on June 18th, 2025, at the age of 61.
Born in Gadsden, Alabama and raised in Glencoe, Alabama,
Todd lived his entire life rooted in the community he loved so dearly.
Todd was a man of strength, resilience and deep love for his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Annette Hare, his beloved children Brittney (Andrew) Lindsey, Brandon (Paige) Hare and his 7 cherished grandchildren: CJ Lindsey, Alaska Hare, Zoey Clem, Hudson Hare, Harper Hare, Spencer Lindsey and Grayson Hare. Todd was also a loving father-figure and uncle to Timothy Kimbrough, along with many other nieces and nephews, as well as friends: Fred Lasseter, Doug Page and sister-in-law Lynne Hare, who all held a special place in his heart.
He is preceded in death by his father Leon Hare, mother Janice Grimm and his loving second parents Margaret and Johnny Elkins. He now joins his brother Pete Hare, sister Angela Hare and treasured uncle William (Bill) Elkins in eternal peace.
From a young age, Todd found joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors- whether he was casting a line into the water or pitching a tent beneath the stars.
He was a longtime scout leader and youth baseball coach, passing on his love of nature and sportsmanship to generations of young people.
Professionally, Todd wore many hats. He worked with his hands and his heart- as a mechanic, tow truck driver and a volunteer firefighter- always willing to lend a hand when someone was in need.
Todd was as tough as they come. Life handed him plenty of battles but he met them all head-on, with grit in his soul and a fighter's spirit.
In his final time at home, Todd kept us all on our toes and surprised us at every turn. He tested our faith, our strength, our stomachs and let's be honest, sometimes our sanity, too. But in those days, he also taught us more than we could have imagined- about patience, love, grace and what it truly means to fight with everything you've got. Todd passed away surrounded by family, wrapped in love and never alone.
A special thank you to his dear sister-in-law Brenda Mitchell, the caring therapists from Amedisys Home Health and the compassionate hospice nurses who walked alongside us through every step.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date, allowing friends and family to gather in honor of Todd's memory and the incredible life he lived.
Forever loved, deeply missed, always in our hearts.
