

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Tony DeWayne McCartney, 50, Rainbow City, who passed away in his home Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016. The Revs. Jeremy Jones and Rodney Prickett will officiate. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Ashville. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.Mr. McCartney was born Sept. 29, 1966, in Gadsden. He was a wonderful father and a beloved friend. He will be greatly missed. Tony spent many years owning and operating a logging business.Mr. McCartney was preceded in death by his mother and father, Diane McCartney Kelly and Barney McCartney; and aunt, Elizabeth Carter.Tony is survived by his son, Jordan (Morgan) McCartney; stepson, Josh (Kristen) Allen; brother, Perry (Cathy) McCartney, sister, Carolyn (Kenneth) Garrison; brother, Shane (Lisa) McCartney; grandchildren, Laney, Jalyn, and Coley Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Ricky Hill, Junior Terry, Allen Lancaster, Tim Carter, Glen Carter, Scotty Hill, Chris McCain, Darrin Fullenwider, Billy Watts and Gary Hill.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
