

Chapel funeral service for Mrs. Vivian Lorene Cornutt Ellis, 78, of Gadsden will be 2 PM Thursday at Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. Jay Stewart will officiate with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery.
Vivian was born in Gadsden on October 1, 1932 to Charles Hermon and Lillian Riley Cornutt, whom preceded her in death. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and caregiver. After graduating from Emma Samson High School, she attended Gadsden Business College, and was a bank auditor for State National Bank. Vivian and Kenneth were married November 22, 1950 in Corinth, MS. She was a Sunday School Teacher at Walnut Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling with Attalla Coffee Breakers.
Vivian is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Clay Ellis, Sr.; sons, Dr. Kenneth Clay (Cathy) Ellis, Jr. of Gadsden; Loren Jaye (Nicole) Ellis of Boaz; sister, Brenda Cornutt (Carl) Stedham of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Cynthia Ellis (Mark) Hill, Catherine Ellis (Brant) Haynie, Cantrel Clay Ellis all of Birmingham; Alyssa Nicole, Katlyne Grace, and Colten Jaye Ellis of Boaz; great-grandsons, Ellis Daniel Haynie, Mark Logan Hill, Jr.; brother-in-law, George Radford (Carol) Ellis; nephews, Bret Radford (Kristie) Ellis, Bart Landon (Erin) Ellis; and special friend, Janet Smith all of Gadsden.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hill, Brant Haynie, Bret Ellis, Bart Ellis, George Ellis, Michael Erwin, and Laverl Maroney. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Hayes, and Tommy Lowe.
The family wishes to express special gratitude to Dr. Willbon Bates, Dr. Sengar & Staff, Lawley Hospice, Kelly Usry, and 7th Floor Staff at Riverview Regional Hospital.
The family will accept flowers or suggests memorials to Dwight Baptist Church.
