Wallace H. Mcduffie
November 3, 1934 – December 4, 2018
Funeral services for Wallace H. McDuffie, age 84, of Gadsden, will be Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. J.D. McDuffie will be officiating the service. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will be directing. Wallace worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was the pastor of Hopkins Chapel and helped coach football for the Striplin Vikings, Disque Buccaneers, Mountain Rams, Gadsden High Tigers, and the Downtown Lions Club, and he was the head coach of the Gadsden Peckerheads. Wallace was a member of 12th Street Baptist Church, loved golf, the beach, fishing, the Auburn Tigers, cooking, hunting, and most of all, his family. He was the best dad and granddad ever! He is preceded in death by his parents, A.D. and Verna McDuffie; wife, Elaine McDuffie; and son, Wally McDuffie. Wallace is survived by his daughters, Tammy McDuffie and Suzy (Jim) Steward; son, J.D. McDuffie; grandsons, Taylor McLendon and husband Paul Talley, Christopher McDuffie; granddaughter, Morgan (Terry) Rushing; brother-in-law, Sonny Taylor; several nieces and nephews and his best dog, Annie. So sorry for the loss you all have experienced with the passing of both Wally and Wallace. Growing up with JD being not only our youth minister but also a mentor and great friend, Wallace was always so kind and friendly whenever I saw him.
JD... love ya and thinking about ya. Hope you are doing well.
