Wayne Daniel Clark
December 13, 1932 – July 30, 2020
A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 11:30am, at Union Hill Cemetery, for Mr. Wayne Daniel Clark, 87, of Gadsden, AL, who passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020. Brother Randy Gunter will officiate the service. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Clark lived in Gadsden his entire life where he met his beautiful wife, Martha Delois Jones Clark. They shared 64 wonderful years up until his death. Wayne served two years in the National Guard until he was medically discharged. Mr. Clark worked for Leon Jones Appliance and Installation for 23 years. He also worked for Hick’s TV, and he was a delivery man for most furniture businesses in town including Stertchi’s Furniture, Rhodes Furniture, Ross Grambling Furniture, Foote Brothers, and Emmett Dyes Antiques. Mr. Clark loved antique furniture. He especially enjoyed restoring it to its natural beauty. He loved watching baseball (Go Braves), wrestling, cowboys, and listening to Alan Jackson Gospel music. He truly loved his beloved pets CoCo, Dollie, and Sister Cat. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Clark is preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Clark and Pearl Decker Clark; brother, Lonnie Clark; sisters, Nell Jo Hudgins, Willie Mae Owen, and Shirley Simmons; grandson, Adam Wayne Garrett; and chosen great grandson, KiKi Kernochen.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Delois Jones Clark; children, Martha Wayne Garrett, Patricia (Danny) Smith, and Danny (Janice) Clark; grandchildren, Amanda (Terry) Vest, Terrisa Smith, Jeremy (Carrie) Smith, Daniel Smith, Justin (Destany) Clark, Debbie Green, and Denise Snow; great grandchildren, Adam Wayne Garrett Jr., Kylie Jo Clark and MaHaley Clark, Neema Smith, and expected great grandchild; chosen great grandchildren, Kael Kernochen, Sareyn Taylor and Slade Taylor, Austin Green, Dallas Green, and Tyler Green; sister-in-law, Ruth Clark; special loved ones; Kayla Kilgore, Rick Garrett, Chris Maxwell, Angela Brandenstein, and Harold Cagle; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Justin Clark, Jermey Smith, Daniel Smith, Dan Smith, Billy Jones, and Chris Maxwell.
