

DUCK SPRINGS - Funeral service for Mr. William "Bill" Nabors Hayes Jr., 65, of Duck Springs, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Ben Edmondson and Bro. David Denson will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Bill was a 1964 graduate of Winterboro High School and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant with 29 years of service. He is preceded in death by his father, William N. Hayes Sr.; and his brother, F. Dixon Hayes.
Bill is survived by his mother, Louise Dowdy Hayes; brother, Paul Hayes; sisters, Judy Hayes McElveen, Mary Helen Hayes Forrest, and Laverne Hayes Field; children, Dixon W. Hayes, Catherine Hayes Senter, Phillip R. Hayes, and Christie Hayes (Mike) Forrester; grandchildren, Joshua Wetzel, Megan and Wesley Hayes, Will and James Forrester, and Tyler, Sarah, and Austin Hayes.
Pallbearers will be Alan Hayes, Dan Spurgeon, Ed Gartman, H.L. Cofield, Gary Perry, and Larry Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Coosa Valley Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Rapha Christian Home, 677 W. Covington Ave., Attalla, AL 35954, or to North Glencoe Baptist Church, Chapter of Celebrate Recovery, PO Box 5429, Glencoe, AL 35905.
The family expresses their gratitude to the staff and doctors of Gadsden Regional Medical Center SICU.
