
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Collier-Butler Chapel for William Howard Fletcher, 86, of Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016. Rev. Roger Graham and Rev. Don Graham will officiate. Entombment will be at Forrest Mausoleum. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Fletcher was born in Crossville, AL the youngest of 7 children. He graduated from Crossville High School. Mr. Fletcher served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. He worked 42 years at the Gadsden Times, retiring as the Production Director in December 1994. Mr. Fletcher was a longtime member and Deacon at Bellevue Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Virgil and Willie Belcher Fletcher; and his six siblings.
Mr. Fletcher is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sara Stapp Fletcher; sons, Dr. Mark (Freida) Fletcher of Tupelo, MS, and Eric Fletcher of Fairfax, VA; two grandchildren, Sara Lynn and Carson Reid Fletcher; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Stapp, Mike Gunnells, Dennis Benefield, Glenn Rogers, Micah Williamson, and Scott Croley.
Honorary pallbearers are Adam Rogers, and all members of the Men’s Sunday School Class Dept. 4 at Bellevue Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church, 150 Noccalula Dr., Gadsden, AL 35904.

The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service on Saturday.
