Jason was born on November 11, 1966, in Gadsden to Janice and Levone Johnson. He was a
proud graduate of Hokes Bluff High School, Class of 1985, and went on to complete two years at
Alabama Technical College, specializing in telecommunications. He dedicated over 35 years to
the telecommunications industry, working as a Senior Installer, overseeing testing operations
while traveling across the United States.
He was a devoted husband, father, son, sibling, and friend. He will be remembered for his hearty
laugh, the joy he brought to any room he entered, and his ability to turn a short story into a three-
hour conversation, never meeting a stranger. Jason was incredibly generous with his time,
resources, and quick wit. He had many hobbies, including car restoration, beekeeping, and
running his YouTube channels 1952Jeep and HardWayFarms. He also had a self-proclaimed
PokéMon Go dependency (which he said helped him maintain his svelte figure). A jack of all
trades, he could fix just about anything if he had the time to piddle with it. Jason had his own
barstool at The Blind Mule in Mobile, Alabama “his home away from home” where he spent
many hours surrounded by the people he loved, when he wasn’t there he always had an open
stool in his workshop for friends and family.
Jason is survived by his wife, Sarah Johnson; his daughters, Summer and Alyssa Johnson; his
grandchildren, Everett and Cordelia Rohde; his mother, Janice Johnson; and his sister, Heather
Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father, Levone Johnson; his paternal grandmother,
Lucy Lee Johnson; and his maternal grandparents, Lorene and Homer Pendley.
A service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to his
wife and family via Venmo (@Sarah-Johnson-628).
As Jason always said, “y’all take it easy now.”
