William S Vinyard

A memorial service will be held at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. for William S. “Bill” Vinyard. Chaplin Craig Sitz and Reverend Charles “Buddy” Owens will officiate. Mr. Vinyard, 68, died at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 28, 2011. He was born on December 22, 1943 on the Leota, a paddle-wheel steamboat on the Coosa River across from what is now Moragne Park. He was preceded in death by his parents Horace Benton and Mary Elizabeth Counselman-Vinyard. He is survived by his loving wife Belinda Vinyard; children, Ben (Julie) Vinyard of Woodstock, GA, Pam (Jeff) Gilchrist of Acworth, GA and Craig Mitchell, of Acworth, GA; grandchildren, Kennedy Vinyard, Dylan & Taylor Gilchrist and Hunter Brand, who were his pride and joy and special friends Randall Fells and Jack Atkins. The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Marlene Lovell, Jamie Ellis, Craig Sitz and the staff of Comfort Care Hospice, Dr. James D. Robinson and Dr. G. Lowndes Harrison. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler.
