Obituary of Willodean Gray
Audrey Willodean Alverson Gray, 97 died Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Gadsden Regional Hospital, Gadsden, AL. The family will receive friends and family from 5 to 7 p.m.on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Collier Butler Funeral Home, Gadsden, AL. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Tabor Road, Gadsden, Alabama. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Minister Kenneth Lasseter will officiate. Mrs. Gray was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed by all. She was a keen observer and possessed a remarkable memory up to the day of her passing. She was a walking encyclopedia of information who delighted in sharing her memories and knowledge. She loved gardening, mowing grass, and watching Saturday college football. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took pleasure in providing support and encouragement to her family and friends. Willodean was preceded in death by her husband Olen B. Gray, parents William Eli Alverson and Buna Sitz Alverson, brothers J. W. Alverson, Frank Alverson, and Richard Alverson, and sister Betty Alverson Parker. She is survived by her son, Ronald Gray and daughter-in-law Kimberly Collins Gray of Huntsville, AL; granddaughter Ashley Gray Delseni (Brad), Bristow, VA; great-grandsons Bear, Silas, and Parker Delseni; sister Florence Alverson Johnson of Gadsden, AL, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Eli Alverson, Nick Alverson, Adam Blackerby, Ricky Blackerby, Austyn Jones, and Brad Delseni. A special thanks to niece Regina Blackerby and nephew Benny Alverson for their loving care and support. Also, the family wishes to thank the staff of Gadsden Regional Hospital, Medical ICU and Dr. Debora Reiland for their professional care. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Gray family.
