Adam H. Karl, 46, of Columbus, OH passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 2, 2025. Known to always be the smartest person in the room—as well as the loudest—he will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his children, Ava and Adam (“AJ”), who he loved dearly and already miss his presence greatly. He also leaves behind his sister Nicole (Ernst), his brother-in-law, Joe, niece and nephew, Addison and Zachary, and his fiancé Christine Eichmuller, and her children Jay and Brady. He is proceeded in death by his parents Alva and Nancy Karl, as well as his grandparents Iris Karl, and Howard and Thelma Bretz.
Adam is known for many things, including his generosity to all, but most importantly, he was an amazing and devoted father to his children. From coaching their sports teams to cheering (often yelling) on the sidelines, Adam was their biggest fan in all Ava and AJ did. He was also a sucker for saying yes to doing everything they wanted—trips to Sephora, hitting golf balls together, dinner out with groups of friends, sleepovers, running to Starbucks, catching passes in the backyard, trips to the beach, hitting balls on the tee, getting the latest pair of sneakers—Adam did it all for his kids. His loss leaves a gaping hole in their hearts.
Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Adam attended Vandalia-Butler High School. He went to Baldwin-Wallace college where he was on the school’s golf team, and later attended Law School at Capital University. He was a practicing attorney, starting his career at Golden & Meizlish, and later co-founded his own firm, the KM Law Firm. Columbus has been Adam’s home for many years where he has built a great community of loving and supportive friends who were like family.
A memorial service to celebrate Adam will take place on Monday, January 13 from 11-11:30AM at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home (1051 E. Johnstown Rd. Gahanna OH). Visiting hours will follow the service until 1PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Ava and AJ’s college fund through their individual 529 accounts. Please visit Ugift529.com to make a gift. Ava's code is N63-W1Q and AJ's is X2S-V4T. Thank you in advance for supporting their future plans.
