Thank you to the nurses of 6 Blue, Dr. Joya-Estrella and his staff, especially Kelle. Born May 31, 1947 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to the late Pablo and Mariana Canales.
Angel was a member of the Caparra Little League World Series Team in 1959, he later traded the baseball diamond for the golf course, spending his adult years as an avid golfer. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico.
He retired from Pharmacia and Pfizer where he worked for over 30 years and went on to consult for the pharmaceutical industry for 15+ years. Angel was devoted to his wife, family, and to the Catholic faith. Preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Nereida Canales.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nayda Canales, brother Pablo Canales (Margie), children Nayda (Alan) Hipolite, Angel (Carol) Canales Jr., and Liza (B. McNulty) Canales, grandchildren Landon, Seth, Payton, Sydney, Liliana, Sophia, Sam, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., with prayers at 4:30 p.m. at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 E. Dublin- Granville Rd., with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center, Ohio.
