Born deaf, Ann never let anything hold her back and lived her life with strength and determination. She raised three boys who, as the family lovingly says, “weren’t exactly angels,” but whom she loved fiercely through every stage of life.
She enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises, and loved cheering on Ohio State football. Even in her later years after losing her eyesight, one of the first things she would ask was if Ohio State had won.
Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew “Andy” Anderson; sons, Kenneth and David Shoemaker; brother, Henry Schofield; and parents, Zane and Mildred Schofield.
She is survived by her son, Michael Shoemaker, lovingly known by Ann as “her baby”; granddaughter, Christina Redmond and her husband, Captain Luke Redmond, U.S. Army; and great-grandchildren, Emerson, Wyatt, Brooks, and Amelia.
Family and friends may gather at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Rd. on Thursday, May 14. Visitation will be from 4:00-5:00 PM, with funeral service to begin at 5:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ann’s honor to the National Family Association for DeafBlind https://www.nfadb.org/Donate or to a charity of your choice
