Carole Markle

Carole Ann Markle, age 87, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 22, 1938, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, Carole was the beloved daughter of Stanley and Mary (Yanik) Pavlic.

Carole’s greatest joy was her family. Carole deeply loved and was loved by her family- especially by her children: Michele (James) Stoody and Brian Markle; deeply devoted partner, John Chabria; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her dear sister, Joan Rita Howard. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew her generous spirit.

Carole retired after a dedicated career working diligently at the Treasurer of State’s Office. In her retirement, she spent time serving and volunteering at several charitable organizations. She served two terms as President of the Women's Service Board of Grant Medical Center, two terms as President of Stargazer charities, and was actively involved with City of Hope.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH 43230, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Following the next day, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Rd, Columbus, OH 43230, at 1:00 PM. Services will conclude at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens for entombment.
