Charlene (Adkins) Ailes

Charlene (Adkins) Ailes, 78, passed away on August 28, 2023. She was born on August 27, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio to Betty Jane Sherman Adkins and Woodrow Wilson Adkins. Charlene graduated from Big Walnut High School as part of the Class of 1963. After high school, she worked for the child support division of Delaware County for several years. She also worked for Byers Imports from 1997 until 2015, when she retired. Although she didn’t attend church regularly, she was a Christian and loved the Lord. Charlene had a passion for gardening, cleaning, and do it yourself projects, but most of all, she loved her family. You never had to guess what Charlene was thinking, because she would tell you. Her strong wheel and drive took her up until the very end.

Charlene is survived by son Timothy & Staci (Hamm) Ailes; grandchildren Charlize and Cooper Ailes; brothers and sisters-in-law David & Debbie(Snyder) Adkins, Willie & Heather(Jaros) Adkins, and Paul Adkins; her sister and brother-in-law Becky & Kevin King; many nieces & nephews; and last but not least, her beloved dog Scooter.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 11am – 1pm at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230, with her funeral service following at 1pm. Services will conclude with interment at Riverside Cemetery on Sunbury Road.
