Born in Bamberg, Germany, Christa immigrated to the United States at the age of 9. She settled in Salem, Ohio, where she met and married her husband, Ken Marshall. They shared 55 loving years together and raised two daughters, Heidi and Debbie.
Due to Ken’s career with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the family moved throughout the state before settling in Pataskala in 1991. There, Christa worked for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. After retirement, she and Ken lived in Sun Lakes, Arizona—where she was active in the VFW Auxiliary—and later in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
Christa loved reading, bowling, crocheting, and cooking, but above all, she cherished time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ken; daughters, Heidi Ramsey (Mike) and Debbie Swisher (Joe); and grandchildren: Abi (25), Nathan (22), Larolyn (17), and Miley (16).
A memorial service, officiated by Phil Hurlbert of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH 43230. Visitation will follow until 5:00 PM.
Christa will be deeply missed, but her family finds peace knowing she is no longer in pain and her memory is restored. We thank everyone for their condolences and invite you to join us in remembering her as she would have wanted.
