Daphna "Marie" Arthur

Marie Arthur, 88, of New Albany, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024. Marie was born on July 19, 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents Isom Richard and Mary Lee Gillum, loving husband of 61 years Richard G. Arthur, siblings Howard Gillum, Juanita Gillum, Maxine Gillum, Dorothy Young, Paul Gillum, Donald Gillum, and Alben Gillum.

Marie is survived by her devoted children, Catherine (Jeff) White, Cynthia (David) Stanley, Richard (Shelley) Arthur, and Randall (Christine) Arthur. Blessed with 12 grandchildren; Jeffrey (Tracy) White, Jonathan (Jess) White, Jennifer (Mikelle) White, Carrie (Dax) Stanley-Davis, Sarah (Jordan) Rush, Natalie (Johnny) Hiles, Nicole (Broc) Stradley, Michael Arthur, Kaytlyn (Chase) Griffin, Kristen Arthur, Joseph Arthur, Joshua Arthur and 2 step grandchildren Delaney Ferguson and Brandon (Barbara) Stanley. Marie has 13 great-grandchildren; Jacob, Sydney, Harper, JJ, Sadie, Makayla, Sabrina, Maggie, J, Joelle, Addison, Amelia, Archer and 2 step great-grandchildren; Luke and Logan. Marie is also survived by her brothers Ira (Fran) Gillum, Douglas Gillum and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marie retired after 42 years working with Drs Bronstein, Rupp, Friedman, and Basaran where she was office manager and bookkeeper.

Marie enjoyed being with her family and friends. She served on the New Albany Zoning Commission, the New Albany Plain Local School Board and was also a Girl Scout Leader. Marie enjoyed watching professional baseball and college basketball games. Marie was an avid golfer. She enjoyed golfing with her many friends and family around central Ohio, Florida, and throughout the USA.

A visitation for Marie will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Friends and family will be received once more the morning Friday, March 15, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to Marie's 11 AM funeral service at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast. Immediately following the service, interment will take place at Maplewood Cemetery, 4585 Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road, New Albany, Ohio 43054.
