

Darlene Joyce Deskins, known affectionately as Dodi, passed away on October 22. 2024, at the age of 83 in Gahanna, Ohio. Born on September 4, 1941, in Greensburg, PA, to parents, Michael S. and Sara A. Stepanovich Chicka, she grew up in rural New Alexandria and attended Greensburg High School.
Dodi, alongside her husband, Harold, successfully ran Ziegler Plumbing in Columbus, OH for over two decades. Her entrepreneurial spirit was matched by her zest for life, as she and Harold traveled extensively and enjoyed winters in Key Largo, FL. An avid reader, Dodi also had a great love for her Yorkies, Abby and Laci, whom she pampered endlessly.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dodi is survived by her husband, Harold; children, Godfree Rodman, Dennis (Sherri) Deskins, Tammy (Guy) Carlson, James Deskins, and Lisa (Steve) Ross; grandchildren, Godfree Rodman, Angie Deskins, Jason Deskins, Erica Deskins, Eric Deskins, Julianne Deskins, Aaron Karo, and Bryce Karo; nine great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a special sister-in-law, Nancy Perez, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family, whom she loved dearly, will miss her deeply.
Preceding her in death were her son, Ronald F. Rodman; grandson, Joseph Rodman; granddaughter, Alexis Ross; and her six brothers and one sister.
