Dave was a devoted husband to Shereen Midkiff, loving father to Jessica “Roxie” Hampton (Los Giles) and he adored his grandson, Gus.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald & Richard; niece Rebecca, nephews, Jimmy, Scott & Aaron.
Survived by sister Rheta Whalen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dave will be missed especially by his close friends, Kevin, Tony & Fred, who shared many memorable moments with him.
Known to most as “El Crabo,” Dave was a proud ‘68 grad of Linden McKinley H.S. His infectious humor and quick wit were evident throughout his life. He was a member of the MC2 comedy troop, and his knack for humor propelled him to the finals on “America’s Funniest People.” Demonstrating remarkable versatility, he also brought over 30 characters to life on TV’s “Hott Sinema.” A passionate collector of guitars & lover of music, he held a special appreciation for The Beatles, Frank Zappa & Bob Dylan.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer, with guests encouraged to bring their favorite Dave story.
