

David proudly served his country in the United States Army through the RCA Program before beginning a successful 30-year career as a computer technician with Unisys. A gifted problem solver with a passion for technology, he enjoyed working with computers throughout his life.
A devoted man of faith, David was a faithful member of East Livingston Baptist Church for 48 years. During that time, he served the church in many different capacities, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever he was needed. He had a deep love for music, treasured time spent with his family, and was known for his wonderful sense of humor that brought smiles to those around him. David also enjoyed firing up the grill and creating lasting memories with family and friends.
Above all, David will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his kindness, his laughter, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
David is lovingly survived by his wife of 50 years, Violet Y. Rarey; his children, David Rarey Jr., Susan (Jason) Dailey, Cherity (Conrad) Juergensmeyer, John (Kerry) Rarey, Jeff (Natalie) Rarey, April (Reginald) Burney, and Emily Rarey; along with 13 loving grandchildren, two brothers and one sister; and a loving extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Melissa Warton, one grandchild and one brother.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at East Livingston Baptist Church, 6500 East Livingston Avenue, Reynoldsburg, where friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Pastor Donald Bean officiating. Private interment.
