Donald "Don" Davis

Donald Gene Davis, born on August 18, 1934, in Chattaroy, WV, passed away on December 29, 2024 at 10:08PM. He is survived by his wife, Carole J. Davis; son, Darrell (Elaine) G. Davis; daughter, Theresa “Terry” L. Witt; six grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, close associates, and extended family members.

Don graduated as Valedictorian of Chattaroy High School, class of 1952. He attended The Ohio State University before graduating from the FBI National Academy, class of 131. Don went on to retire from the Bexley Police Department as Lieutenant and Executive Officer and was also a former associate of Coldwell Banker/King Thompson Real Estate. Don also served his community as past president and past member of the Board of Directors of the Bexley Lions Club and was also a former USAF flight engineer and mechanic.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Preece; his parents; seven siblings; his grandson, Billy Witt; and son-in-law, Billy R. Witt Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to made to one’s favorite charity in Don’s memory to honor his gracious spirit. They would like to give a special thank you to Jenkins Care Community and their staff in Wellston, OH.

A graveside service for Donald will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43213.
