Edward William Stewart, Jr. (Eddie) was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 24, 1953 to his late parents Edward William Stewart, Sr. and Ruth Stewart. He died peacefully at home in Gahanna, Ohio on November 1, 2022. Eddie grew up on the East side of Columbus and was a graduate of Eastmoor High School and Columbus State Community College.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Robin Stewart; his daughter, Mallory Markham (Corey); son, Trevor Stewart (Ashley); two granddaughters, Addison and Charlotte Stewart; his brother Scott Stewart (Barb); 2 nephews; 1 great-nephew; 4 great nieces and many close friends.
Eddie and his brother Scott were founders of the Stewart Memorial Golf Outing which donated its proceeds to Make A Wish Foundation or 24 years. Eddie also helped with local fundraisers sponsored by Coaches Bar and Grill and Gatsby’s. Eddie was a member of the Gahanna/John E. Bickley YMCA where he went seven a days a week to get his ‘steps in’ but mostly to visit with his workout buddies.
Eddie was an avid sports fan and his life revolved around the game schedules of his favorite teams – OSU Buckeyes, St. Louis Cardinals, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Los Angeles Rams. He will now have the best seat in the house for all his sporting events.
Eddie will be remembered for his positive attitude, friendly nature, and infectious smile. We love and miss you Eddie.
