Spending time with her family and friends was her greatest joy. Whether cheering on her Buckeyes, completing a puzzle, taking care of her home, or indulging in something sweet from Resch’s Bakery, Eleanor loved life. “Miss Ellie,” as she was known to those who loved her, had a kind, giving heart and never knew a stranger. Her compassion and loving spirit will be carried on by her family in honor of a life well-lived.
Eleanor was born on September 7, 1926, in Columbus, OH. She was married to Richard “Dick” White, and he preceded her in death on January 25, 1975. Eleanor is survived by her two daughters; Joyce White, Columbus; Norma (Pat) Tague, Gahanna; daughter-in-law Suzi (Bruce) White; and granddaughter Jenna Tague. She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce White; brother Bob Echenrode and sister Mary Hutson.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Capital City Hospice for their support and comfort in her final days.
Visitation is planned for 12:00-1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, Gahanna. Burial will follow in Mifflin Cemetery, Columbus. Memorials may be made to Capital City Hospice, Columbus.
